Facing back into the channel it works and is offshore on a south westerly. Can work through the tides, occasionally fast breaking at high tide. Gets crowded when the north coast is maxed out. More of a winter break, famous for long summer flat spells.
Here at Pentewen you will find good beach break waves. It needs quite a lot of south coast swell to work well. Only come on high tide if you know that it will be big here, it often breaks right on the beach.
On a southerly or huge sou'westerly swell with winds southwesterly to north, this beach break will deliver one of the best waves in the south west! There are some excellent banks at mid to high tide providing fast hollow waves across the whole beach.
I dont think 2 out of 5 does Pentewan justice really. If you can get the conditions right you can get a nice fast clean wave. Uncrowded if you get there nice and early!
