There is this little headland at Nazare that waves break near. We watched 10 - 12ft clean, spitting grunting waves trying to break the seabed and ran like the yellow dogs we were. This place is dangerous, and is either for the insane or the seriously good. It's rumoured that this place get really big and I can quite believe it. When all around is too big go and watch it off the headland and be amazed.
I'm from Nazaré, Portugal. I saw every day Praia do Norte in Nazaré, this wave is the biggest wave in Portugal. The waves are very powerfull, hollow, dangerus and perfect. Somethimes the waves have 12m, hollow, but perfect. This beach have always waves with low tide, when is 1 our 2m. It´s the perfect spot during the summer (1 to 3m), in the winter it's very big (until 12m). Come and see, with your eyes. It´s perfect for tow-in. There is no crowd.
