Me and my friends missioned to this place on the Biarritz-St Jean de Luz Bus and were rewarded with reasonably clean, 6-foot and consistent walls. When it gets bigger, the crowds tend to thin out. Just remember to bring a big enough board (6' 3 is NOT big enough) and prepare for some stepping take offs and decent hold-downs. But it's a nice pointbreak, check out my picture.
Inner section works really nicely & barrels sometimes. If you stick to the inner there are not to many worries about crowds but the rocks are pretty sharp. Out the back theres always 20+ peeps by 9 in te morning. Bouncy take off and is fun when not crowded!
I have just returned from 10 days camping at Lafitenia. There is also a left reef which is a long paddle of approx 500 metres but well worth it for massive drops and has short but powerful rides and out onto the shoulder. Definitely not for beginners and breaks at least twice the size of the right,
