You can also head up to bunkers, between Le Pennon Plage and vieux boucau. excellent waves to be had all through the tides. Again beware of rips due the sandbanks. Surf this one when the sun is setting it so COOL.
I spent 2 weeks here in the summer, the surf was great!!! Every morning there awaited perfect glassy waves. It is best surfed early morning and late evening. Crowds can be a problem!! It was such a fun wave straight down from the entrance you get a peelin right hander hollow from low to mid high.
OK if you aim for Soustons Plage you will find a really awesome wave..... it works best on the early when you get perfect glassy rides. A few scattered sandbanks can change the layout regularly but when you do find one stick to it (beware of the rip!) and you will be rewarded by the ride of your life! Had some blinding drops with 5ft walls and still rising! The paddling out can be exhausting but rewarding when you get out the back. When you get to the sandbanks, you can find yourself in less than 2ft of water with 6ft+ walls!
Enjoy !
