Just came back from surfing at this place. It has no facilities on the beach and the water is disgusting (when I went.) However the wave is about 100 better than La Torche. Great bodyboarding wave that still has a lip for airs even on an onshore wind. Surfed here on an epic swell at low tide and the barrels were amazing.
I had the opportunity to live here for 4 months. A beautiful part of france with a great feel to the place. La Torche is for old men and kids, Porzcarn is where the locals are pulling in and doing some very impressive surfing. There can be 100 in at La Torche (holidaymakers) and just 6 or 7 at 'carn. The lower the tide the heavier the barrel. Watch out for gay dutchmen in the line up pulling creidt card airs!
Ten Times more powerful than La Torche and ten times less crowds. At high tide there is a nice left in the center and a shorter right in the right corner. If there is a big swell, the outside reefs can produce some of Brittany's best waves. It can hold a bit of wind, which is a good thing because it doen't get offshore that often.
