Blankenberge is probably one of the best breaks around. You can surf both sides of the pier, or the right side of Staketsel, or the long stretch of beach to Zeebrugge. When there's lots of wind choose either side of the pier according to the wind direction. The pier always gets bigger, but is mostly messier. Only surfable at high tide. so choose other beaches when there's no current or wind. In 3 years of surfing here I have had 2 exeptional days, one 1.5 m offshore, and one 1.5 m with very long rides (for Belgium) both with no one out, just me and a mate. Don't crowd it please. There are too many people in spring, summer and fall.
