Find the secrret spot of La Garonne. watch out for the crazy locals highly skilled but dangerous! The best time is September. Generally few people in the water even during the summer.

Cap Ferret to Truc Vert isall pretty much close out dump in all but most northerly swells. Can be very dangerous even in medium (4ft plus) swells. Petit Train had people being pulled out by coptor. Truc Vert itself is a great spot - not too crowded, best low to mid tide especially at the southern end, and holds a lot of onshore. Higher in the tide you can play with the shore dump :-)

There are several spots between Cap Ferret and Grand Crohot. Check out the break at the Truc Vert. It has a relaxed campsite behind the dunes and holds size reasonably well. Waves break over sandbars and with large differences in tides will vary in both size and shape throughout the day. Locals are nice and equipment is available at Moonlight surfshop in Petit Piquey.
