I just got back from here last week. Surf here is very strong and the waves just dump you on the shore. Hardwork for intermediate surfers like me cos of the paddle out but good for beginners. Excellent waves though! 6ft offshore which was great on a bodyboard. (I gave up surfing cos I couldn't duckdive my board) Uncrowded which is nice. Great town, good bars. Well worth a look in winter I imagine.
