Le Bouvarie beach is the best place out of the three spots on this beach. Spanish beach far down to the right is small unless its really pumping while you could end up in a tidal rip and end up down the gironde if you surf over near to the lighthouse. AND yes, in summer the jelly fish get caught in the current and end up in the surf and on the beach. Believe me...they are big...but harmless...I think.
I surfed down near the lighthouse last summer, a few local kids gave a bit of attitude but apart from that it's a half decent break with plenty of space. Very dangerous rips if you take the kids, but really well patrolled by the lifeguards. Will be back this year for sure.
Spent agreat couple of weeks there this summer. It's not Croyde but there was plenty of space and although the rips are really dangerous at the swimming beach, (well supervised by the lifeguards though) the surfing area at the lighthouse seemed pretty safe. A great place for the family. Local kids seem to have a bit of attitude though.
