The Quiberon penninsula is an excellent spot. Good consistent waves for us spongers. Had no problem with the locals - but then we were there early. Lots of variety all along the penninsula.

Port Blanc and the whole "Côte Sauvage" are very very crowded in summer when waves are about 3-4 ft which creates a lot af tension in and out of the water. So, for your safety try not to drop in on locals who are quite rude (don't even go to "Port ru" when the peak is as busy as Pipeline to surf 2ft waves with onshore wind!) A particularity of Port Blanc is that you can get to the line up with your hair dry thanks to a stream that runs along the cliff. Nice isn't it? Waves are powerful and hollow and the bottom can be very close (do not stick around the impact zone). You can surf waves up to 8 ft but you'd better have a lot of experience as it can become out of control. Since a couple of years it's compulsory to be a member of the french surfing federation (or your national surfing federation) to surf the "Cote Sauvage" spots. Now you know a little more about the spots I've been surfing for ten years. Aloha and keep on surfing.
