This break deserves way more than 2/5. When its on its a longer and better wave than the point. Needs a big swell but a must if you’re in the area when it’s going off!
This wave brings together the kindship and personality of the Kerry surfer and a gentle rolling right hander that is fun more than epic within an environment that is absolutely mind blowing-thankyou for the experience! Let us all hope it stays that way.
I went for two weeks and surfed all but three days, I would give it four out of five but your wasting your time on Gary Williams point it's a very overated wave with a nasty rocky walk to get to it. If Stoney gap gets to busy which it normally does you can head up to Dumps to avoid the little terapins.
This wave's under rated. 4 or 5 stars would be closer to the truth. Launch isn't one of the easiest but definitely worth it. When working (the bigger the swell, the better it is), it delivers a great and long wave. A little further down, there's middles where, given good conditions, you can get nice barrels.
It only rates a 4 or 5 on days when everything is favourable wind swell direction swell sive etc. These days are few and far between. The majority of the time its just peaks and backs off.
