A very good break when it is working. Steep and powerful sections break left and right off the many jetties located all along the beach. Ideal spot for all levels of experience and is easily accessible for those without transport. Located near to bars, campsites and the town centre (Costa) whilst just 10 mins from Lisbon. Watch out for the fishermen pulling in their nets through the line-ups! Eles locos! Also the tides can be vey sudden and rips very powerful... Don't surf here after 10 suoerbocks and a joftah you may end up in the cape of good hope!

I love Caparica. The last jetty is by far the best where a sandbar causes the wave to come bowling up out of deep water and reel off smooth as a babys arse for 25 metres both directions. Never mind the bull about local aggro their sound as a pound!!
