This place has to be the original fickle spot. Video footage (in one of Mr Skanks surf vids - 'Momentum', I think) stands as a testament to the fact that it does work but I've never had it that good. Last trip we ended up surfing the lefts on the inside, which provided some shelter against the howling northerlies. A fun wave, but there is better further down the coast...

It was our trip that put the pictures of Skirza in "The Surfers Guide to Europe" and I have to rate the break as good as anywhere in the world that year. It broke from as far left as you could see and finished 30 yds past the pier at a size ranging from 6 - 10ft. Thats a 350-400yd left with one guy getting barrelled 3 times on one wave the first being a huge stand up disappearance act.
