Some good days work best at low tide with long a long left. It faces slightly more east than other Moray beaches so is the best in the area with a northwesterly wind, if Lossiemouth works often Sandend works a bit better on southerly winds. It’s not very consistent for shortboards and is polluted. It has a fickle quality left that is impossible to predict from charts so is not worth a long travel. It is good if locals tell you when it works, Hopeman and Burghead work in big swells with an easterly wind. Nowhere in Moray is as good as Thurso, you probably need a longboard to get much swell.
A good left at low tide, but go for the wall at high as it wedges of the pier with a very steep drop. Quite an inconsistent beach that is very unpredictable and the pollution makes it even more unattractive.
