The infamous Mundaka probably is the most famous left in Europe. Known worldwide it must be in the top 10 surf spots on the planet. It is so popular due to the length of ride and the speed that it breaks to the river mouth. I have surfed it at 8 ft and clean and it was the best surf I have ever had. The left powers its way into the river mouth for at least 400 metres on a good swell. I also tried it at 10 ft plus and it was terrifying. You get some extremely strong currents pulling you out to the impact zone if the tide is going out the whole of the river flow will carry you out which is very dangerous!. You can only surf here at low tide unless it is huge. Don't be put off, this place is pure magic but only for the experienced you don't want to bog a rail on the bottom turn! Ouch! very shallow!

If you make the takeoff, you will get barrelled. Lots of locals who rip, but if you wait your turn and don't burn anyone you'll get set waves. Perfect at 4-6ft.
