A brilliant place to get away you can camp on the cliff tops and jump off cliff to get to the waves. It can be good and will pick up swell when everywhere else is flat. Nice A-frame peaks rebound off the cliffs giving mostly lefts. It can get busy.
Nice wave. Just jump off the cliff, catch the rip and your out the back. Really hollow right hander at low /incoming tide and powerful left at high. Nice Wave on a big swell.
When there has been a good swell in Donegal bay and it begins to fade off when the more settled weather arrives the only beach to find good surf is in Tullan where you will find a great break just off the cliff. There is also a handy rip by the cliffs that brings you right out to the break when the tide is going out.
Surfed it last weekend. Its a nice powerful wave. Jump off the cliff and paddle out the back in that really handy rip. Nice left hander. The right only works at mid in coming tide. Got some sick barrels. No point paddling out off the beach it will take ages on a big day. Well worth a visit if your in the area.
I surfed here a few times. Its an alright wave in no wind but once wind gets at it it turns into a big mess. I didnt like it very much. The rip in by the cliff is very handy for getting out the back and jumping off the cliff. I would be suprised if I ever have a good surf there. It just doesn't do it for me.
This beach will have waves when every other beach in Ireland doesn't, it can get a bit messy with waves rebounding off the cliff face causing the waves to go sideways and makes it very difficult to get out to the clean break, it's a great beach and I recommend it!
Don't jump off the cliff! No matter how tempting it looks don't do it though it is fun! I made it but my mate nearly died drowning. Just take it from me don't jump off the cliff. Great surf though it's a must do beach!
