A very average beach break. Rarely surfed due to its exposure to the southwest winds. Can have a small and clean wave when Abersoch is a decent size. The best wave is found at the left of the beach when decent rides can be had. There are a few rips to help with the paddle out.
A very fickle beach break, decent waves at the southern end of the beach on occasions but on other days can close out. Holds about 4ft and picks up almost as much swell as the Mouth, regardless of popular opinion. I prefer it to Rhosneigr due to the beauty of the spot. In winter you are almost guaranteed to be alone, maybe save a few seals.
A reasonable beach break which can produce clean 3-4 ft waves and gives a decent ride on the southern end of the beach when the winds are offshore. The surf tends to be messy and 2-5 ft with strong onshore winds. No rips and never gets crowded.
I have surfed and canoed this beach after being disapointed by Rhosneiger! I was surprised at how nice it was! Not great, but for north wales it was excellent. Top end of the beach near the river mouth has an alright left hander If ya on a walking holiday chuck ya board in ya might get lucky!
