I've been surfing here for years and I hate it more than words can adequately say. Especially now that fat bic boy and two stroke have started running people over on a regular basis.
This beach works at around high tide and produces good waves. However, the take off area is in the narrow point of the bay and crowds become a problem. You need to get there early at weekends as 10 surfers is a crowd.
Funnel shaped bay which needs reasonable swell to work. Very narrow bay that produces short fast rides very close to the shore. It is sheltered and water quality is very poor and there can be too many goatboaters! Rips down the left hand side of the bay.
Mainly a right handed wave which can produce reasonably long rides. It only works on a big swell, Hells Mouth needs to be 6ft+ for Cable to work. Please give the locals their space!
Cable Bay gives a clean wave when the swell is running from the south west. Canoeists are the main problem they think they own the place. A super boogie wave.
Cable bay is OK and it is a nice little cove which is a right and works 2 hrs either side of high tide. It faces west and needs mod-rough conditions to work or a strong swell. Any more than 6 is a crowd. The wave breaks over a weed covered sand bar.
Fat waves but work well around high tide. Can still work when other areas are blown out. A good south westerly will mean this place is the only working wave around and can be well crowded as a result (more than 6 is a crowd). Good beach for kids while dad surfs!!
