The swells have been rolling in unexpectedly at Boscombe Pier over the last two months producing some excellent surf especially on the west side. There are some good longboard waves and if you hug the pier on the paddle out you'll be out the back again in no time.
If it’s crowded down at Bournemouth head towards Boscombe pier as this is a carbon copy of Bournemouth. Also Bournemouth pier is considerably less crowded during winter months as many of the body boarders don’t venture out.
Can offer some surprisingly good waves, but gets blown out with fierce cross-winds that make it very hard to stay on the peak. Watch out for fishing lines off the pier!
Steep banks give really nice clean wedgy waves with an offshore wind, but it gets very messy onshore though. With a bit more swell this beach would be ace on a shortboard. Good fun though even on a small wave.
On a good day there can be a lot of ground swell and with the right wind it can pick up really well. going there nearly every day I have got used to the surf and its bloody brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This beach is good for beginners and it is getting a reef over this winter which will make the waves a lot bigger which would make this beach amazing for surfing!
