Banff point: big northerly swell, light southerly wind and it can go aff. Nice lengthy rights and shorter faster lefts on offer. Hoovers, palmer and the links beach are other options nearby.

"The point" at the main beach has a classic left and right when it's working, usually on a light southerly wind, with a good 3-6 foot swell. Further up the beach, "Hoovers" offers good tubes if a little fast.

Well the point works best low push. Get the conditions right a fat southerly or south westerly swell, and steady northerly winds and you may just enjoy one of Buchans finest point breaks. The trick is to catch those conditions, though generally if there's swell around the beach is always right there so you have options.
