Simon, i'm sure the BEACH has been surfed for donkeys years (it's not a great beach for surfing anyway), but i am refering to the east point, off the rocks. there is the hint of a reef break there. with a big swell I can see it from my house which overlooks the beach. Would you know if anybody has surfed it? One things for certain, i've never seen anyone on it.

This is a new break that's previouly unexplored (I think). I've only surfed there properly once because we only found it in October 2001. The one thing we found is that the tide is critical, it has to be low tide otherwise it won't break. But when it does break it's in the form of a predictable left, and I reckon with a sizeable swell and a mean low tide that it could get pretty hollow!!

A special spot, one of many spots that can be found on Tiree. Discoved by a Tiree legend Tim D. The spot is excellent and despite what Ross says in the above review, I am sure we have tried the spot 2 times which is still 2 more than the number of waves caught by myself, because believe me with a good wind direction, a mean low tide and a large swell it gets damn big in there. This may be a very generous estimate but I would say it reaches 10ft on a decent day!

Sorry Ross the beach has been surfed since the 80's and there is a rumour that Tiree was surfed by US troops stationed there during WWII.
