Camber Sands is the home of most south east surfing contests due to its ability to catch any ripple in the area. It suffers from blown out conditions regularly and has a huge tidal range of up to 1 mile! Heck of a walk!
The beach is very good if a south west storm comes through the channel as the centre passes over the winds switch offshore to north west and you have a day or so of 3-6ft barrels depending on the groundswell and windswell generated by the storm.
This spot can suffer from major rips that are like rivers on certain swells so caution should be taken but on a 2ft day you should be ok.
there are lots of spots along the beach as it is 2 miles long. At the far end it is relatively unchartered due to the walk but you will find great surf down this end by the river exit and the huge sea wall. Getting to that spot though is a journey of over a mile from the car park over dunes and along a beach of very soft sand. You will be knackered but it is often great and far superior than the other spots.
Another good spot is opposite the grass car park where it can tube regularly. Bigger waves can be found opposite the Tarmac car park but these are often closeouts. Enjoy the spot!
